Charles is the managing member of the firm, and a Senior Member of Stone Carlie & Company, L.L.C. He graduated from the University of Denver College of Business Administration with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1970, then spent thirteen years managing supermarkets and other businesses. Charles taught an accounting course at Southwestern Illinois College for two years.
Charles has been practicing as a public accountant since 1984, and is licensed as a CPA in Illinois and Missouri. Charles is also credentialed as a Certifed Information Technology Professional by the American Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Charles serves on the Advisory Board for Creative Solutions, Inc. (CS). Founded in 1979, CS is the country's premier provider of software to accounting firms. CS has 700 employees, including 65 CPAs, and more than 58,000 accounting firms, including 18 of the top 20, use CS products. Charles also serves on the CPA Advisory Board of Sageworks, Inc., a leading developer of financial analysis tools for financial professionals. Charles frequently serves as a speaker for groups and organizations, including presenting annually since 1995 for CS at their annual users' conference. Charles has also presented workshops for the Illinois State Bar Association and the Missouri Society of CPAs.
Mark C. Goldenberg, JD, CPA

Mark is both a Certified Public Accountant and an attorney. He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Commerce with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting in 1970, and from the University of Illinois School of Law with a Doctorate of Law in 1973.
Mark founded the original Tzinberg, Goldenberg & Dowdy, P.C. firm in 1983, and now practices as an attorney and is the managing partner for the law firm Goldenberg Heller Antognoli Rowland Short & Gori, P.C.
Mark is also admitted to practice before the IRS, the US Tax Court, and the US Supreme court. Mark is a member of the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois State Bar Association and the Madison County Bar Association.
Sandra K. Dowdy, CPA
Sandy became a principal in January of 2004. Sandy started with TGD as a co-op high school student, working part-time. After high school, Sandy became a full-time employee, but continued her schooling, including a class in Accounting 101 taught by Charles at Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC). She earned her Associate of Science Degree from SWIC in 1995. 1999 was a banner year for Sandy, as she graduated with Cum Laude Honors from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville's School of Business with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy, passed the exam and became a Certified Public Accountant, and earned the position of Office Manager for the firm.
