Charles has been practicing as a public accountant since 1984, and is licensed as a CPA in Illinois and Missouri. Charles is also credentialed as a Certified Information Technology Professional by the American Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Charles spent many years serving on the Advisory Board for the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson-Reuters (TR), the country's premier provider of software to accounting firms. Charles currently also served on the CPA Advisory Board of Sageworks, Inc., a leading developer of financial analysis tools for financial professionals. Charles frequently serves as a speaker for groups and organizations, including presenting for over a decade for TR at their annual users' conference. Charles has also presented workshops for the Illinois State Bar Association and the Missouri Society of CPAs.
Sandra K. Dowdy, CPA
Sandy started with the firm as a co-op high school student, working part-time. After high school, Sandy became a full-time employee, but continued her schooling, including a class in Accounting 101 taught by Charles at Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC). She earned her Associate of Science Degree from SWIC in 1995. 1999 was a banner year for Sandy, as she graduated with Cum Laude Honors from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville's School of Business with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy, passed the exam and became a Certified Public Accountant.
Charles graduated from the University of Denver College of Business Administration with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1970. He then spent thirteen years managing supermarkets and other businesses. Charles taught an accounting course at Southwestern Illinois College for two years.
